Announcing: Peppermint Lane
A Nostalgic Holiday Boutique

Afton, Hillary and I enjoyed doing the Boutique together a couple weeks ago SO MUCH that we decided to try our hand at it, thus PEPPERMINT LANE was born!! Good friends Terri Hill and Bev Turley are also joining us.

It will be THIS coming SATURDAY from 8:00am - 5:00pm at our home!! (4051 E. Garnet Cr. Mesa--of Southern Ave. between Val Vista and Green field).

As you can see by some of the photos posted, it will be a little different AND unique to the "Boutique Scene". We are mixing hand crafted Holiday items with VINTAGE and RETRO items. Stroll with us down PEPPERMINT LANE and enjoy enough "eye candy" to really get you in that festive holiday mood!!

A FREE GIFT BAG of goodies awaits the first 25 customers!!

We will have a FREE RAFFLE for some nice door prizes!! Come ready to munch fresh baked goods (Afton will have her famous JUMBO POPCORN BALLS waiting) and shop with out pressure or stress!
'Tis the SEASON!!!

Online BOOK SHOPPE!!

YEP--That's right!! I have opened my very own online BOOK SHOPPE called Busy Beaver Press!! I couldn't be more proud and humble at the same time (is that possible?)

The Little Stream makes it's debut at BusyBeaverPress.etsy.com. (click on book image).

If you have read The Little Stream you have probably fallen in LOVE with the Wise Old Beaver (I know I couldn't help it either!).

If the Wise Old Beaver were to make his own pencils, what would they be like?

Find out at BusyBeaverPress.etsy.com!!

The LITTLE STREAM

My 3 year old grandson Gavin, was intently absorbed in The Little Stream and I just couldn't resit this photo op. Is he CUTE or what?!?!?

Entry Way-AFTER (finally)!!

My dad (G'Pa Rowley) is the great craftsman behind this adventure! The beaded board is not paneling! It is 8 foot long pieces by 2 boards wide! He pains-takingly fit each piece until we had the MASTERPIECE you see here! I found these GREAT Audutorium Chairs about a year ago for a song in a Prescott Thrift Shop. I had NO IDEA what I was going to do with them at the time, but I LOVE the HARMONY they make now!!

I think the Star Fish in a vintage wicker baset is my favorite accessory!

I have had this ANTIQUE "Hall Tree" for 25+ years! In the Antiques World it is a NO-NO to paint beautiful wood, but i was ready for a REAL change, and I'm not a bit sorry!

I was on a very TIGHT BUDGET and needed to put it into the beaded board and paint. We were at Home Depot and found just the right price for these light fixtures ($30), but the color was ALL WRONG. They were a murky dark copper color, but I LOVED the style!! What'a girl to do! YEP--Spray paint!!!!

The Times, they are a Changin'!

After 27 years of the same wallpaper etc. it's just time for a CHANGE!! So...what we thought would be a "small Saturday" project turned into...well let's put it this way: We are now on our 9th day and we STILL don't have enough done to show you AFTER photos!!!!!
BEFORE:
Afton's enthusiasm for the job is quite REFRESHING!

Contented Housewife APRONS

My own creation...tah-dah! The CONTENTED HOUSEWIFE apron! I was working on ALTERED ATTIRE one day and thought "HEY-It could be FUN to make an apron out of something else that once was something else!" SOOOO I did.. and here are a few modeled by us GIRLS! For each one I started out with a thrift store blouse, then cut out the back to form a HALTER! I added a FLOUNCE to the bottom and trimmed it in coordinating PRINTED bias tape I found online. You can unbutton the front so it doesn't mess up your hair when you pull it over your head AND it ties in the back for a PERFECT FIT!! A little flirty would you say?!?!
NOTE: All three CONTENTED HOUSEWIFE Aprons are now for sale on my I MADE it FOR YOU site--- yellowbusybeaver.etsy.com
