Contented Housewife APRONS

My own creation...tah-dah! The CONTENTED HOUSEWIFE apron! I was working on ALTERED ATTIRE one day and thought "HEY-It could be FUN to make an apron out of something else that once was something else!" SOOOO I did.. and here are a few modeled by us GIRLS! For each one I started out with a thrift store blouse, then cut out the back to form a HALTER! I added a FLOUNCE to the bottom and trimmed it in coordinating PRINTED bias tape I found online. You can unbutton the front so it doesn't mess up your hair when you pull it over your head AND it ties in the back for a PERFECT FIT!! A little flirty would you say?!?!
NOTE: All three CONTENTED HOUSEWIFE Aprons are now for sale on my I MADE it FOR YOU site--- yellowbusybeaver.etsy.com

Afttie's ADORABLE baby ADORNMENTS

If these aren't yummy I don't know what is!! The CUTEST part about them is...they are all MADE by AFTON!! She remembered her mother making them for her when she was little (er). I knew my friend Tina makes them so I asked her to give Afton Baby Sock making lessons...

...and here is the result!
I am SO PROUD of her!!! She works hard on them and does such a GOOD job. She has come up with some pretty cute and fun color combintions.
Afton has made them to give away and auction for a good cause.
Well I can tell you another good cause! She would also like to sell them to make some spending money...
...SOOOOO I set her up in one of my Etsy Shoppes.
I bet you know someone who would just be tickled to have a pair or two.
If you would like to purchase some of these little treasures just go to:
yellowbusybeaver.etsy.com and look in the BABY section. If you don't see the color you are dreaming of BELIEVE me she can make anything you can think up!!

DREAM IT!

UPDATE: This journal just SOLD. I's going to Great Brittain!
I will be putting this in my Paper Panache Etsy Shoppe tomorrow but I wanted to share it here first. For short I call it a "DREAM IT" journal. It's for all of those scraps of words, thoughts, ideas, sketches and yes DREAMS that just jostle around in your head but you are afraid will fly out of your brain, before you FINALLY find a RARE moment to sort through them (breathe) and ENJOY them!

I made a simplified version for Clayton and gave it to him along with a rhyming dictionary for his song writing etc. DREAMS
The jist of this journal is simply stated on the front cover. I truly believe:
"It's NEVER too LATE to become what you might have been"!!

Both the inside FRONT & BACK covers have pockets to tuck momentos like a page from a magazine, ticket stub, a poem, a recipe or ANY little thing you'd like to hang onto to ENJOY!
H-m-m-m-m-m...Maybe I'll start taking HINTS for Christmas!!

a Fist Full of Feed Sack Fragments

Update: After only 2 days in my Etsy Shoppe ALL 8 bags SOLD! One order even went to Canada!!

OK-This was one of those cool finds in Missouri!! It was a big grab bag full of Feed Sack and Flour Sack Fabric Scraps. Some one had saved them after cutting out big pieces for other things. They really are cool little tidbits of vintage fabrics. They would be GREAT for COVERED BUTTON CRAFTS! or any other tiny piecing projects you could think of!
These ARE going in my Paper Panache Shoppe:

ANOTHER piece of ALTERED ATTIRE

ALTERED ATTIRE

I am designing what I will call ALTERED ATTIRE. I like to take a couple things apart and put them back together in a different order.
The top Hillary
has on is made from 2 blouses and a skirt I found at a rummage sale!
This is Hillary's first official MATERNITY TOP! OOPS-did I say Maternity?!?!
I guess the cat's out of the bag now!!!

I remember as a kid helping my mom fill S&H GREENSTAMP Books. I know that's the way she did a lot of her CHRISTMAS shopping!!

We spent a few days in Missouri and even though we were there for a rather solemn reason (Karl) we still managed to poke around a couple thrift stores in the near vicinity. Needless to say, our suitcases were quite a bit tighter coming back than they were going over. WELL I should HOPE so. Especially if they're gonna charge us an extra $15 per bag!!
I think my favortie FOUND items on this trip were the S&H GREEN STAMPS and the red COWGIRL BOOTS!

a BuNcH of BoXeS

I was shopping for ribbon and envelopes and when I got to the check-out I saw the clerk starting to rip these CUTE boxes up to go into recycle! I asked if they were allowed to give them away.
As you can see the answer was YES! so I snagged them and dragged them home to my StASh! (Yah-ah-ah!) I thought they would be a CUTE way to ship items on the smaller side.

a Stash Stack

I went to GOODWILL on Monday which was $1 day for purple tagged items. Every skirt, top or otherwise in these photos were only $1!
